What is Chase Auto Preferred?
Chase Auto Preferred is a concierge car buying service tailored to consumers who want a pressure-free shopping experience at a dealer. Chase Auto Preferred provides discounted pricing on new and used vehicles and a concierge who will walk with you through the car buying process.
What should I expect in the Chase Auto Preferred process?
Once you provide your contact information, you can expect your Chase Auto Preferred Concierge, who is a dealership employee dedicated to being the sole point of contact for Chase Auto Preferred customers, to contact you.
From there, you can expect that:
- Your Chase Auto Preferred Concierge from the dealership will facilitate and walk with you through your purchase process
- You’ll receive Chase Auto Preferred discounted pricing communicated at the dealership
- You’ll receive timing and location flexibility for test drive and trade-in evaluation
Please provide your best contact information so your Chase Auto Preferred Concierge can easily communicate with you. If you don’t receive a response within one business day, please check your spam folders for an email from the dealer(s).
Finally, at the end of the process, you can expect to receive a survey requesting your feedback on your experience with Chase Auto Preferred from a third-party survey vendor, Directions.
Do I need a Chase account to participate in Chase Auto Preferred?
No, participation is open to anyone who is interested in purchasing a vehicle in the Phoenix area. You do not need to have a Chase account to participate in this program. By participating in this program, you do need to agree that Chase and the dealer(s) will share information with each other concerning your participation in this program, and that Chase will follow up with you to ask for your feedback concerning your experience.
Does Chase Auto Preferred apply to purchase and lease?
Yes, Chase Auto Preferred applies to both purchase and lease.
Does the Chase Auto Preferred discounted pricing on a vehicle include all associated fees?
No, the Chase Auto Preferred discounted price does not apply to any additional document fees, tax, title and/or registration charges, or other charges required by law. Additionally, any aftermarket product purchases (e.g., tire and wheel coverage) will not be included in the discounted price.
What if I’m interested in more than one brand?
Please choose one brand/dealership from the dropdown menu, and then provide in the “notes” section on the form a list of the other brands which interest you.
Will more dealers and brands be added to the program?
Yes! If you’re interested in a brand that isn't listed above, please check back soon. We'll be adding more brands and dealers to the program in the coming months.
Where can I provide feedback on the Chase Auto Preferred program?
We value your feedback and will be contacting you to learn about your experience with Chase Auto Preferred through a request from our survey partner, Directions, using the email address you provided to us on your initial interest form. Depending on your comments, it’s possible we may have additional follow-up questions as well. If you don’t receive a survey request from us within 45 days of your car purchase, please be sure to check your spam and junk folders.
The dealer is offering additional options. Can I finance them?
Yes. Optional products may be financed but some are not permitted by Chase. You can finance eligible additional options, which may include credit life and accident & health, pre-paid maintenance, extended warranty and tire wheel. Aftermarket products vary by dealer, so contact your dealer to see which products are eligible for financing with Chase.
When does my credit decision and Annual Percentage Rate (APR) expire?
Your credit decision and Annual Percentage Rate (APR) are good for 30 days from the decision date.
If you buy your car after the decision, your APR expires or you make any changes to your requested loan (including the amount financed or the term), vehicle (including the year, make, model, options and mileage) or buy additional optional products, we'll review your application again. This could change your application decision and/or your APR.
Do I need to know the specific car I want to buy when I apply for the loan?
We need to know which car you'd like to buy and a few details (make, model and trim) when you apply so that we can give you the most accurate credit decision.
Why don't I see the car I want to buy?
We accept most, but not all, makes and models. If we allow a make and model, we'll list it here. We don't show cars when we have a special financing program with the manufacturer.
Can I apply for a loan with someone else?
You can apply alone or with another applicant. Simply choose the option to apply with a co-applicant when starting your loan application.
How old do I need to be to apply for a car loan?
Generally, applicants must be 18 years or older to apply. Residents of Alabama have state-specific requirements for 17- and 18-year-old applicants.
Do I need a down payment for a car loan?
You don't have to have a down payment, but having one can reduce the amount you need to finance.
Completed and Decision Application
Can I check the status of my application once I've submitted it?
If you supply a valid email address, you can check your application’s status any time after you submit it by going to chase.com/loanstatus.
Can I make changes after I submit my application?
You can change your car information, term and loan amount at the dealer or with your dedicated Chase Auto loan representative. Keep in mind that any changes to your request or car could change your credit decision and loan terms. If you decide to change your dealer, you'll need to complete a new application online at Chase Auto Loans and select Apply Now.
I was approved for a car loan. What do I do next?
Print your approval details or show the dealer your approval email. They’ll use this information to look you up in their system so you can complete your loan.
Do I need to bring any information with me to the dealer?
The information you need will depend on your particular situation. When you apply, we'll let you know which documents to bring to the dealer, along with proof of insurance and a valid driver's license.
Once I apply, how do I get the money to buy my car?
If we approve your application, your dealer will have your information. You can go directly to the dealer to review and sign your loan documents.
Where can I find a list of dealers within Chase’s network?
Please use our Dealer Locator to find a dealer in our network.
How will my dealer know if I'm approved?
If we approve your loan, we'll let the dealer know the details of your application decision.
Are there credit requirements to apply?
We use a number of factors to make your credit decision, including the information you give us in your application and the information in your credit-bureau report.
What if I don't know exactly how much money I need to borrow?
Your exact loan amount may change as you work out the details with your dealer. It's best to be as accurate as possible because changes can affect your loan approval and terms. Your dealer can update the final loan amount once you agree on a final price.
What are the credit requirements to apply?
We use a number of factors when we make your credit decision, including the information you gave us in your application and the information in your credit-bureau report.
What information do I need to apply?
To complete your application, you'll need to tell us:
- Your personal information (e.g. address, phone number, etc.). We'll fill in your personal information if you’re an existing Chase customer
- Your current employment and salary information
- The car you plan to buy
- The dealer that has the car you plan to buy
- The loan amount you want to borrow
- How long a loan term you want
Keep in mind: We may ask for additional information based on your loan type and your credit application.
How soon will I receive a credit decision after I submit my application?
We work hard to provide you with a decision as soon as possible, typically within 2–3 hours, but a decision could take up to 3 business days. If you told us your email address during the application process, we'll send you a follow-up email and a letter in the mail with more details.
How does applying for a loan affect my credit score?
When you apply for a loan we make a credit-report inquiry and the credit-reporting agency creates your credit score. We're unable to provide details about how the inquiry could affect your credit report.
How do I apply for a business loan?
To apply for a business loan, you'll need to work with a relationship manager at a Chase branch or visit our business lending site by clicking here.
What's the difference between applying for financing at a dealer and applying directly with Chase?
If you apply for a car loan directly with us, only we will receive your application. If you apply at a dealer, they may send your application to multiple lenders.
Do I need a down payment for an auto loan?
You don't have to have a down payment, but having one can reduce the amount you need to finance.
Do I have to apply for credit again when I get to my dealer?
When you apply with us, your dealer will have your approval details so there's no need to re-apply. However, dealers may have their own procedures and require this step.
Do you charge an application fee?
We don't charge any application fees.
If you approve my application, am I obligated to finance my new car with Chase?
You don't have to finance with Chase, even if we approve your application. However, if you want to take advantage of this offer, contact your dealer.
What is the interest rate for my new car loan?
You need to apply to determine your interest rate. Our Rate & Payment Tool can help, too.

What will my monthly payment be?
Your monthly payment will change depending on several factors, including your loan amount, term and APR. To see an estimated monthly payment, please use our Payment Calculator.
How long will it take to receive my title?
Your dealer will work with us to complete this process and they'll be able to give you this information.
Will I receive a coupon book or statements in the mail?
We don't offer coupon books. You'll receive quarterly statements in the mail. If you want to go paperless for your statements (and stop receiving them in the mail) and you’re an existing Chase customer, you can sign in to chase.com, choose “Profile & settings” from the side menu and then "Paperless.”
What information do I need to complete the Chase auto refinance loan application online?
To complete your auto refinance loan application, you’ll need to tell us:
- Personal information (including name, Social Security number, date of birth, address, phone and email address)
- Employment information and annual income
- Loan amount you wish to refinance
- Length or term of the loan you are requesting
- Vehicle information (including year, make, model and current mileage)
We may ask for additional information after you submit your loan application.
Using the Chase Online loan application
How do I access my saved auto refinance loan application?
You may return to a saved application to continue with the auto refinance loan application. Log in using the User ID and password that you set up during the application process. Please note, as of June 9th you will no longer be able to save your application nor access already saved applications – you will need to restart the application process and submit once complete.
Checking loan status
Once I have submitted my application online, how do I check my loan status?
You may check your loan status here. Log in using the User ID and password you set up during the application process. If you don’t remember the User ID and password that you set up, simply go to the application status login page and click on Forgot username/password link. Choose, “I have a pending application”. You will be asked to enter the email address and your ID Number. Your ID number is a combination of your mailing ZIP code and your date of birth. For example, if your mailing ZIP code is 12345 and your date of birth is January 10, 1980, your ID number would be: 1234501101980.
What does a "pending" auto refinance loan application status mean?
A "pending" status means that the application is still under consideration pending further credit review. We will contact you if you need to provide additional information and once the decision has been made.
How long will it take to receive a credit decision?
If you apply during normal business hours, you should hear from us within 24 hours.
Completed and Approved Application
How long is my auto refinance loan approval valid?
Approvals are valid for 30 days from the date of approval.
How do I complete my Chase auto refinance loan once I’ve been approved?
Your dedicated Chase Auto loan representative will advise you of the next steps to complete the loan process.
Once my auto refinance loan is completed, how will my previous auto loan get paid off?
We will send the payoff check directly to your financial institution to pay off your previous auto loan.
